P1/2 have zoomed into the discovery of Space. Through play they have been taking the role of astronauts, other workers in a space station and aliens on the moon. They have been performing scientific research, maintaining the station and conducting spacewalks. Through other play areas, they have been building rockets from recycled and construction materials, exploring sensory play with materials such as rice and flour, crafting space-themed art and constellations. Also, through Literacy, they have read, sequenced and retold the story ‘Whatever Next!’ They are so excited as they are getting to do their very own class assembly to perform and retell the story to the rest of the school on Monday.
