Dancing With A Difference!

26th Nov 2025

Today we had a Highland Dance lesson with a difference! Emily came in as usual but thought it would be great for our children to learn a little Ulster Scots as part of Ulster Scots Leid Week.

Everyone from P1 to P7 learned the names of body parts and some emotions! What better way to do this than singing heid, shoothers, shanks an taes (heads, shoulders, knees and toes).

We also learned about being scunnered, sleekit, foundered and crabbit, all words which have made their way into our everyday vocabulary from Ulster Scots.

A huge ‘thank you’ to Emily and Bready and District Ulster Scots!
