Danny Quigley 🏊‍♂️🏃🚴

21st Mar 2022

Today Primary 4-7 had a visit from Danny Quigley.
Arranged by Aisling from Bogside and Brandywell Health Forum, Danny talked to the children about the importance of caring for our mental health. Danny told us how he did 10 Ironman events in a row and raised over £100,000. That's a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile cycle and running 26 miles EVERY DAY for 10 days.

Danny is a great inspiration to us all and he told us that keeping our bodies healthy is an important part of keeping our minds healthy. However, he also said that it is important to look past what we can see and although someone may have a healthy body, they may be struggling with mental health issues.

Everyone has good days and bad days, but when you just can’t shake that ‘down’ feeling and it won’t go away, speak to someone who can help you. It could be a friend, parent, family member, medical professional or even a teacher in school. Or if you notice someone isn't quite themselves, ask if you can help. We're all in this together.
