P3/4 Visit The Centre for Contemporary Art 🎨🖼
P3/4 had an inspiring and creative day visiting The Centre for Contemporary Art, where they explored the exhibition It’s Not Clear From Here by artists Thomas Hunter, Sabi Nicholson, and Lucy Tevlin.
The children looked closely at the artwork and talked about how artists tell stories using different materials, images, and ideas. Inspired by the exhibition, the class learned about the legendary hero Finn McCool and discussed how myths and legends can be retold in creative ways.
Working collaboratively, P3/4 shared ideas, sketched together, and planned how to bring the story to life. They then created their own puppets and worked as a team to retell the legend through a shadow puppet theatre performance.
It was a fantastic opportunity for the children to combine art, storytelling, and teamwork—building confidence, creativity, and communication skills while responding to contemporary art in an exciting and hands-on way.
